Signing up with Frederick Thompson was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’ve been very competitive playing sports and taking on just about any physical challenge throughout my 52 years of life. But the older I got, the more I realized that the vehicle that is my body had endured a lot of punishment over the years and I needed help. Fred took the time and provided the personal attention to understand all of my past injuries that haunted me and created a program that would help me strengthen the damaged areas while promoting growth. I felt great, looked good too and then I had a setback. I fell on ice during the winter and tore my rotator cuff in bracing my fall. Doctors told me surgery was the only way back from a practically frozen shoulder. Brushing my teeth and combing my hair became daunting tasks. Knowing the surgery recovery time was going to be very long, I consulted with Fred and he gave me a new workout to strengthen my shoulder. Fred was always confident that we could rehab my shoulder back to health, but I must admit that I was skeptical. It took a lot of work (and pain meds), but I’m back and I’m pain free for the greater part, except for the occasional pain of what feels like I’m crushing a walnut in my shoulder if I break from good form during an exercise. I highly recommend Fred. Fred has the knowledge and experience to help you reach your goals. If he can take a broken 52 year old guy and fix him, imagine what he can do with a healthy body!
I’ve been training with Allison for over 3 years and she is amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of health and fitness to include exercise, nutrition and mindfulness techniques to keep me healthy, fit and strong. She is 100% vested in the health and well-being of her clients and is a true partner in their quest for a healthy life. She also makes it fun sometimes with incentives to reach goals. She’s also super sweet so that helps 🙂 I wholeheartedly recommend her!
I’ve been training for over 2 1/2 years with Frederick and have known this fabulous
trainer for over 3 years. Prior to almost assaulting this guy and demanding on bended knees to “please be my trainer”, I always found him available to answer a
question about technique or number of reps prior to our relationship of student and
trainer….let’s face it, it’s like a marriage!!! He will learn more about you than you do,
but soon thru his training, you will know more about yourself. Frederick and I had a 4 day
aweek training schedule. On Wednesday, we trained together and on Monday, Friday andSaturday I was given a written schedule to preform his devilish and
torturous training alone. Thru his knowledge and eagerness to work with his
students you can reduce your weight, gain confidence in yourself and see your
body change into your own Mr. America ……..give or take! Frederick is a real

I’ve been training for more than 40 years so I know how to lift but with Fred i don’t have to think about it. He does it all for me; and with my work schedule, managing a full service health club, i don’t have time to waste. He also makes me do things i would normally blow off like legs! He realizes that a well rounded physique not only looks better but helps prevent injuries in the long run. He is the real deal. A true professional in a field where there are a lot of wannabe’s. Fred took the time to get to know what would work for me and put together a program that allowed me to get into great shape training only 3 times per week for just 45 minutes. Now that’s efficient and effective programming! I usually refer clients to him first to see if he can accommodate them into his schedule and I have access to over 80 trainers. He is also a great guy too.
Fred’s combination of strength training, cardio exercise and nutritional advice make me feel that I am truly fit. During each session he pushes me to my limits by employing different combinations of exercises, which challenge me. He provides me with sound advice no matter what health issues I raise. He is a rare person who I treasure as my trainer
Fred Thompson has had tremendous impact on my life! I have worked out with personal trainers for twenty years, but Fred has been the best! The reason for this is that he is the “dream” of what you think of as the perfect personal trainer. Though many profess to personalize your workout, give attention to your specific needs, etc. that hasn’t in fact been my experience. On the other hand, working with Fred, he has keyed into what I need to pay attention to and he records my progress so that there is no “guesstimate” of how I am doing. In addition Fred is always on the leading edge of knowing what is available in the research end of the fitness world and continues to change it up to incorporate the most successful strategies, and keep it interesting. Two years ago, my physician told me I needed to pay attention to my diet because though I was not gaining weight, my blood work showed I had an increasing tendency to having too much sugar being metabolized (thin and pre diabetic). Fred offered to help me in this regard, and though I was skeptical, he assured me I could turn this around in one month. I heeded his coaching, and was retested 30 days later. To my surprise and delight, I no longer had any issues. Since then, I have continued to feel great, have more energy, look better and train better. I am very much into health, science, and nutrition, and find Fred is always the most knowledgable guy in the room! My husband and I feel so fortunate to know him and his fabulous wife Alison! We credit the Thompsons with truly changing our lives!
Allison and I have been working together for a while now. It started

I have been training with Allison Vernon for years now, and she is the absolute best. I’ve always hated working out. Before Allison I had tried everything to stay motived and engaged in a fitness regimen, but I was never able to stick with anything for very long. Allison is not only a great trainer with an amazing depth of knowledge, but she is also someone who I look forward to seeing in the morning — that is the key ingredient that keeps me coming back week-in and week-out.
When I started with Allison, my primary focus was to improve my posture. I have a double curvature in my spine, and it makes it nearly impossible for me to stand up straight. She took it upon herself to research the condition and designed a program specifically targeted at correcting the problem. Not only have I noticed a vast improvement, but I often get comments about how much straighter I stand when I run into people from my past.
From my work with Allison, my body has transformed and I’ve achieved a sense of overall well being that I never had before.
My experience with Allison started about 5 years ago when she became my personal trainer. Unbeknownst to me, it was the start of a whole new journey that inspired me to take the huge leap of faith career/life change to become a fellow wellness professional.
I came to Allison after having started working out on my own, I was ready to take my workouts to a totally new level that I could not do on my own, and heard that she was the trainer that could help me. When I met Allison, we clicked right away… her naturally joyful and peppy spirit was such a refreshing change to what you’d think a “hard-core serious, bodybuilding-babe” trainer would be. Yes, Allison is a babe, super strong and fit, she has kicked my ass into sweaty oblivion on days, but has also helped me to stop beating myself up many other days. Allison genuinely doesn’t want to see any of her clients get down on themselves, and is always a tremendous source of positive energy and loving kindness. Whether it’s a “standard” hour long training session, one coupled with life’s outside interference (you know.. the days you put more energy into venting about “so and so” than remembering to count your reps) or one where you’re focused with the “eye of the tiger” to work off the meal you recently went a bit “too far on,” Allison is always helping to brainstorm healthy ways to maneuver through life challenges with you in ways that work for you- from how to strategize a week of clean eating or plan a fun sexy night with your significant other. =) She understands that today’s world brings all new pressures and stresses and living perfectly is just another one of those pressure that can unnecessarily raise your cortisol and is always encouraging clients keep it fun and try new things…
Whether through her contagious thirst and excitement to share knowledge about nutrition and wellness, constant support and creativity with workouts or her genuine commitment to each client’s personal well-being. Allison has ALWAYS inspired me to do better and not be afraid to reach for and achieve my goals. She has also taught me the true value in being good to myself and it’s necessity in living a health-full lifestyle.

Over the 3 1/2 years we have trained, Frederick has been a perfect combination of motivation and patience. Somehow he intuited that my training would evolve over time and let it happen naturally. I have been training with Frederick for over 3 years and for a 70 year old male, I look pretty damn good!!! My weight has dropped from 178 to 153.5 pounds. Not only has my physical appearance changed but my doctor has been shocked by the improvement in my blood work! I currently train 4 days a week; once per week with Frederick under his Hybrid Training System. In 2007 I arrived in New York on an expat assignment from Australia. I am an IT Manager who places a great deal of importance in personal fitness and warding away the dreaded middle age spread. There are many exciting challenges arriving in a new city and carving out a new life and new routines, for me one priority was finding a new gym and reinventing my training program. I decided that for the first time in my life I would take on a personal trainer. I surveyed the trainers in the gym, scrutinizing their methods and mannerisms. I needed a trainer that was attentive, reliable and engaged with their clients. That is when I first came across Frederick. I scrutinized his skill and engagement with his clients before I decided that he was the best choice. I have pretty much trained with Frederick twice a week every week since then. This represents the commitment that Frederick has had to my training results and to his clients in general. Frederick is exclusively engaged with his clients during the training session and at no point is he distracted by anything other than maximizing the benefits from the training session. In some circles I could be considered as being slightly hard core when it comes to my training, Frederick has taken this into consideration and will continually review and modify my training & diet to ensure I am challenged at all levels so I can achieve the results that I strive toward. My goals can fluctuate from month to month from being lean and athletic to being as big as a comic book hero. These fluctuating goals do not phase Frederick and he has a unique skill of keep me on track and focused despite my latest infatuation. Training with Frederick over the last 7 years has enabled me to realize and exceeded my personal fitness goals, I cannot recommend Frederick Thompsons training systems highly enough.
Frederick and I have been training together for over 4 years. While I started working with Frederick to get in better shape for skiing, the influence of Frederick’s professionalism, dedication, and holistic approach to the importance of health and fitness to quality of life had a far more profound impact. Since it had become my normal state, I did not know how bad I felt physically until Frederick taught me how good it was possible to feel through the right health and fitness habits. So not only did I lose 30 pounds, feel stronger, and was able to enjoy skiing at a whole new level, but I began to feel better than ever before in my adult life!
I’ve been training with coach Fred for approximately 2 1/2 years. During my 2 1/2 years of training with coach Fred I was going through a painful divorce . He was not aware of my personal pain but his coaching and guidance help me through those trying times. When I started training with coach I was in decent shape at that time. I’m amazed how strong I am now compared to 2 1/2 years ago. For example I remember struggling to lift 275 pounds doing a exercise called Rack Pulls . Whoops that’s a mistake , I didn’t make the lift. As of March 12, 2014 I’m able to lift 405 pounds five set x five rep .
