Welcome to TribecaTrainer.com and we hope you decide to join our Self-Care Revolution!
Without a doubt we live in an extremely toxic environment! How else can you explain the fact that nearly 70% of our population is either overweigh or obese and that the primary causes of morbidity and mortality in the western world are due to what are referred to as “lifestyle diseases” such as: Alzheimer’s, atherosclerosis, asthma, cancer, chronic liver disease, COPD, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, chronic renal failure, osteoporosis, stroke, depression, and obesity (wikipedia)
While our external environment, without question, pose a significant risk to our health. It’s the internal environment that we create for ourselves by the foods we eat, how we exercise, and the way we manage stress that ultimately is what’s killing us and making us sick!
Make no mistake our current medical system is unparalleled in its ability to deal with acute illness and emergency medical situations. However it has proven woefully inadequate in its ability to deal with the chronic conditions that seem to plague the majority of us. We feel that it is therefore up to each of us to take full responsibility for our health in every way possible, and educate ourselves on the health risks associated with the toxic lifestyle we sometimes unwittingly create for ourselves. It is also important to explore how can we address these issues in a more natural and holistic way not simply rely on prescription medicines and major medical interventions as our sole recourse.
To that end we’ve created TribecaTrainer.com; to bring you the latest research and insights form some of the top minds around the world in the areas of Health, Nutrition, Training, Stress Management, and Optimal Performance.
